IMANI NIKELLE
Imani Nikelle is an award-winning filmmaker, poet, and creative director from Dallas, Texas, who is currently based on the East Coast.
Her visual worlds revolve around intimacy, interiority, and the many landscapes of the self. As far as genre, she is drawn to drama, comedy, and the thin line between the two. Her narrative work is committed to putting people of color in starring roles.
Her written work often explores Black womanhood in relation to Southern landscapes, collective memory, and mythology.
Imani is currently an MFA candidate in Literary Arts at Brown University, where she teaches poetry to undergraduate students.
